We encourage you to take advantage of the full-time tutoring faculty, adjuncts, peer tutors, study groups, computer labs and online support at your disposal. While some tutoring options offer general guidance, others are intended for specific areas of study, such as math, English, reading and science. Don’t forget to meet with your instructor on a regular basis, connect with an advisor and/or take advantage of one of our many tutoring options.
Bottom line, if you want a head start in your studies or if you're struggling in a specific course, the sooner you tap into these resources, the faster we can get you back on track and help you stay there.

The Academic Literacies Lab is available for in-person help for students Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Truxal Library Room 108. Online assistance is available Mondays from 9-11 a.m. and 3-7 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m., and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Directions to access the lab online are provided below.

Starting Jan. 29, students enrolled in Financial Accounting BPA-201 can receive in-person tutoring without an appointment in Careers Center Room 264 on Mondays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Starting Feb. 2, engineering technology students can receive open lab tutoring without an appointment on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in CALT 350.
Students within the Homeland Security and Criminal Justice Institute can receive in-person and virtual tutoring. Tutors are here to offer you guidance and tips on forming better study habits, improved note-taking, organizing your notes, better test-taking strategies or acing that research paper. The best part: they are specialists in the fields of criminal justice and homeland security! To sign up, complete the Coaching and Tutoring Interest Form.
Legal studies students can receive in-person tutoring in Careers Center Room 313 on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students can receive virtual tutoring on Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. Email Associate Professor Mary Bachkosky for directions on how to access virtual tutoring.
Students can receive math assistance Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Truxal Library Room 102. Math tutoring is also available at The Sarah E. Carter Building at Glen Burnie Town Center Room 314 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m to 6 p.m., and at AACC at Arundel Mills Room 206 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
Students enrolled in developmental math courses can receive math assistance Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Careers Center Room 190.
Students also may work with a peer tutor by clicking on the orange Request A Tutor button. You'll be matched with a one-on-one tutor.
Tutoring is available through the Virtual Math Tutoring Center (VMTC) in Canvas. The VMTC is open Sundays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Peer Tutoring
Face-to-face tutoring is available to students in Careers Center Room 264. Students enrolled in Fundamentals of Biology (BIO-101) may receive assistance on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students enrolled in General Chemistry 1 (CHE-111), General Chemistry 2 (CHE-112) and Organic Chemistry 1 (CHE-213) may receive assistance on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Science Tutoring Center
Starting Jan. 29, face-to-face faculty tutoring is offered by the School of Science, Technology and Education in Health and Life Sciences Building Room 129. For specific days, times and subjects for the current term, refer to the Science Tutoring Center schedule.
Students can make an appointment for a real-time online writing consultation with a faculty member from the Virtual Writing Center. Appointments are available seven days a week at varying times.
Students can meet with tutors in person at the Writing Center, located in Truxal Library Room 136. Hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Students can remotely drop in with questions and video conference with a tutor to review your drafts. This will be available Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
